Job description

Senior Commercial Finance Manager - Marketing

Who we are

¡Hola!

We're On the Beach. There's over 600 of us, mostly at home, and sometimes in our office in Manchester (Usually a Tuesday & Wednesday).

We send nearly two million people on holiday every year (not together) and we're expecting to get to three million pretty sharpish. Why? Because we're the only holiday company who truly gets why going on your holidays is the best week or two of the year.

With our market-leading offers, scalable, flexible and innovative technology, strong customer-value proposition and low cost base, we're challenging existing players and redefining how customers book, manage and experience their holidays.

And it doesn't stop there. With huge opportunities for growth, we're on a long-term mission to become Europe's biggest and most loved online retailer of beach holidays, so our story's only really just begun...

We're on the lookout for talented, beach-loving people to join us and contribute to the next chapter of our story. You will get to work on interesting projects and will be given the tools and autonomy to have the chance to make your impact on our growth plans.

You'll find diverse teams, reflective of the world we live in and the customers we serve. We believe strongly that difference, not uniformity, is critical to our success. We know that better decisions happen when they are made by a range of voices, perspectives and experiences. As an equal opportunities employer, we value and welcome applications from all sections of the community.

What you'll be doing

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Finance Manager to join our growing Finance department in this newly created role. As a Senior Commercial Finance Manager, you will be central to supporting the Marketing function, helping drive marketing effectiveness, track return on investment (ROI), and optimise spending to ensure maximum impact. This role is a key part of our Commercial Finance function, enabling the business to make well-informed, data-driven decisions to enhance marketing performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Performance Analysis: Partner with the Marketing team to provide actionable insights, tracking and analysing key trends driving marketing performance and ROI.

Campaign Effectiveness & ROI Tracking: Conduct thorough analysis of marketing campaigns, tracking the financial performance, ROI, and identifying areas for improvement or optimisation.

Marketing Spend Optimisation: Work closely with the Marketing function to evaluate and optimise marketing spend, ensuring investments are aligned with business objectives and deliver maximum value.

Data-Driven Decision Support: Deliver financial insights that enable informed decision-making, helping the Marketing team drive strategic initiatives and improve overall marketing effectiveness.

Monthly Reporting & Insights: Lead the development and delivery of high-quality financial management information (MI) for marketing performance, providing clear and concise reports to key stakeholders.

Budgeting & Forecasting for Marketing: Support the Marketing function with budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment between financial plans and marketing strategies.

Business Partnering with Marketing Leadership: Act as a key business partner to senior marketing stakeholders, providing commercial finance expertise and strategic advice on marketing initiatives and performance metrics.

Ad Hoc Financial Support: Provide additional financial analysis and support as required, including deep dives into marketing performance, identifying trends, and presenting solutions.

You'll be a great addition to our team if you have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in Commercial Finance: Proven track record of working in a commercial finance role, ideally with a focus on marketing or business performance analysis.
  • Strong Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, cross-functional team, contributing to shared goals.
  • Analytical Thinker: Strong problem-solving skills with a keen ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proactive and Results-Driven: A self-starter with the ability to take ownership of projects and independently drive outcomes.
  • Relationship Building Skills: Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including marketing teams and senior leadership.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and precision in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
What to expect from our interview process

We will have a 2 stage interview process, the first via Microsoft Teams and the second in person in our offices in Manchester City Centre.

We want to make sure everybody has the opportunity to perform at their best. If you require any reasonable adjustments during the interview process, please let the People team know and they will be happy to assist.

Ways of working

Our fulltime hours are 37.5 per week, but we don't have rigid working hours so you can find the working pattern that's right for you. We have core working hours between 10am - 4pm, so we can collaborate and enjoy the social side of work.

We also have hybrid working so we all work from home and from our Aeroworks office in Manchester City Centre. As a Finance team we tend to be in the office up to 2 times per week.
