Senior Commercial Finance Manager

Contract type: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours)

Location: Uxbridge, expectations are to be in the office at least 3 days per week

What do you become a part of

Working as the Senior Manager within the Commercial Finance team, you will be the primary finance contact for key business units within the sales organisation. The role requires a finance leader to act as a business partner to the channel, providing first-class decision support and analysis whilst ensuring that all commercial finance accountabilities are delivered effectively and in full. This role provides an opportunity to influence and lead change within one of the key focus areas of our business. It offers a chance to influence, lead change, and develop future strategies to grow the business.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop effective and mutually beneficial relationships to support and influence key commercial decisions.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the commercial environment to drive increased value and profitability.
Manage P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Support the sales team to ensure off-invoice investments and accruals are correctly accounted for and within guidelines.
  • Ensure smooth month-end processes.
  • Proactively support working capital visibility and improvement initiatives.
Evaluate Business Proposals
  • Manage complex analysis projects, evaluate findings, and make recommendations about financial implications.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of promotions and customer investments.
  • Support revenue and pricing discussions with customers.
Performance Insight and Analysis
  • Provide financial leadership, guidance, and insights.
  • Identify trends impacting performance and make recommendations to drive business results.
Planning and Forecasting
  • Support annual planning, ensuring strategies are reflected with robust assumptions.
  • Assist with rolling estimates and the S&OP process.
Leadership
  • Lead a team of 2 direct reports.
  • Apply personal development and performance management routines.
  • Set performance objectives and mentor team members.
  • Recruit high-caliber talent when vacancies arise.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualified experience (CIMA / ACA / ACCA).
  • At least 3 years in a commercial finance environment, preferably FMCG.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint & Excel.
  • Analytical, improvement-focused, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience leading teams or line management.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills.
  • Proactive in embracing change.
  • Understanding of FMCG supply chain dynamics.
