Job description

The Role

Are you a Finance Business Partner or Business Performance Manager ready to step into a senior commercial finance role where your insights shape the direction of a major FMCG business?

At Sofina Foods, we're looking for a Senior Commercial Finance Manager to work closely with senior stakeholders across our pork division, driving profitability and helping shape strategic decisions across multiple channels-Retail, Foodservice, and Export.

Please note that this role requires a full time office base at either Malton or Grimsby offices.

The Ideal Candidate

You're a commercially sharp, solution-focused finance professional who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

  • CIMA qualified (preferred) with strong experience in commercial finance, ideally in FMCG
  • Proven track record in a senior finance role such as Finance Business Partner or Business Controller
  • Advanced Excel skills and a confident user of financial models and business planning tools
  • Excellent communicator, able to challenge constructively and influence decision-making
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with a sharp eye for margin, cost, and performance metrics
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
Why Sofina Foods?

At Sofina, we invest in our people as much as our products. You'll step into a role with scope, influence, and visibility-where your insights won't just be noted, they'll drive change. As part of a collaborative finance community, you'll have the autonomy to lead, the support to grow, and the opportunity to help shape the future of one of the UK and Ireland's leading food businesses.

Equal Opportunities

Sofina Foods is proud to be an equal opportunities employer. We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences - regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marriage or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

Your Key Responsibilities

This is more than just a finance role-it's a chance to be at the heart of commercial decision-making, challenging the status quo and influencing change across our business.

You will:
  • Deliver high-impact financial analysis to support tenders, promotions, and strategic business planning
  • Act as a key strategic finance lead, partnering with commercial and cross-functional teams
  • Mitigate inflationary pressures with actionable solutions via sales and category insights
  • Improve margin performance through pricing strategy and new product development evaluations
  • Provide pre- and post-promotional analysis to guide effective decision-making
  • Evaluate raw material alternatives with cost-impact assessments and scenario planning
  • Manage customer profitability reporting, offering challenge and support to commercial leads
  • Deliver insightful product costing analysis using "what-if" scenarios and margin forecasts
  • Support commercial strategies through robust financial modelling and stakeholder engagement
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects with a financial lens
