Location: Hybrid – Minimum 3 days in the office

Salary: Up to £90k (Depending on Experience)

About the Company

Our client specialises in delivering cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure solutions, working on large-scale EV charging installations for public, commercial, and private sector projects.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Contracts Manager to lead and manage complex concession contracts with local authorities for EV charging infrastructure. This role is key in securing long-term agreements that support both business growth and public sector requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee contract discussions after award, ensuring terms align with business goals and comply with public sector standards.
  • Develop strategies to negotiate terms that optimise commercial benefits while fulfilling procurement and funding criteria.
  • Collaborate with legal, financial, and operational teams to craft contracts that address risks and support project success.
  • Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from initial conversations to final execution, ensuring deals are concluded efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to public procurement regulations, property agreements, and industry best practices.
  • Assess and manage contract-related risks, including financial obligations and performance targets.
  • Keep comprehensive records of negotiations and approval processes to maintain accuracy and transparency.
  • Stay informed of industry developments, regulatory changes, and market shifts to spot potential opportunities or risks.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong background in contract negotiation, ideally within public sector procurement or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience negotiating concession contracts with local authorities (EV or comparable industry preferred).
  • Ability to assess commercial risks and determine key negotiation priorities.
  • Familiarity with public sector funding models, procurement frameworks, and contract structures.
  • Degree in law, business, or a related field (preferred but not essential).

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong commercial mindset with a strategic approach to contract negotiations.
  • Ability to break down complex legal terms into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple contracts at once.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving industry with shifting priorities.
