Due to continued growth, our transportation consultancy team is expanding. We are seeking talented commercial management professionals with multi-sector infrastructure project experience to join us in Belfast. You'll be responsible for:
  • Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project.
  • Managing, estimating, and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Being a key interface with clients, stakeholders, and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Handling contractual frameworks and standard forms of contract.
  • Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products, and hence improve the services provided to clients.
  • Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
You'll need to have:
  • Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role.
  • Previous experience working with infrastructure projects/frameworks.
  • Cost planning, budgeting, and estimating experience.
  • Previous experience of managing people and risk management.
  • Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration.
  • Knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing.
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices.
  • Understanding of hot topic issues such as sustainability, social value, and carbon reduction impacting the public sector.
  • Capex vs Opex Cost Analysis/advice.
You'll also have:
  • A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent.
  • Professional membership i.e., MRICS/RICS.
