Job summary

Northerncare Alliance is seeking a substantive Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon to join Salford Royal Hospital. You will contribute to a busy, established colorectal service within the General Surgery Directorate and work alongside colleagues across colorectal and emergency surgery.

Qualifications

• Full GMC specialist registration (as per professional registration requirements).
• Substantial independent experience of colorectal resections in emergency and elective settings.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the full range of colorectal surgical services, including cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, benign and functional disorders and complex conditions.
• Core MDT member with expertise in colorectal cancer management and a focus on laparoscopic resections; opportunity to develop robotic colorectal surgery.
• Work within the Colorectal Department's weekly schedule and contribute to a day-time service aligned with hospital needs.
