Job summary

Financial Times is seeking a senior engineer to design, implement and support collaboration tooling used by staff across Technology. You will drive architectural decisions, avatar AI capabilities and work with multiple teams to ensure seamless integration of tools like ChatGPT, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira and Confluence.

You will mentor colleagues, engage with vendors, and help shape the product and renewal roadmaps while championing an inclusive culture and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer leading collaboration tooling architectures and integration efforts.
• Experience applying AI capabilities within enterprise collaboration platforms.
• Proven ability to influence across teams and translate tech decisions into business value.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and architectural decisions for collaboration tooling platforms.
• Act as SME for AI capabilities within collaboration tooling.
• Engage with FT Technology and other groups to evangelise tools and solutions.
• Contribute to product and renewal roadmaps for the team’s tools.
• Stay updated on marketplace developments for collaboration tools.
• Help manage suppliers and vendor relationships for key tools.
• Liaise with internal customers and vendors of collaboration tools.
• Promote inclusive, multidisciplinary culture and engineering standards.
• Improve technologies, processes and team skills.
• Communicate sound technical decisions in ambiguous situations.
