Qualifications
- Formal qualifications in mechanical machining or related discipline (e.g., apprenticeship, NVQ/BTEC, HNC/HND).
- Progressed from CNC Machinist to Production Engineer preferred and strong machining process knowledge.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing with very large CNC machines in the North of England.
Responsibilities
- Offline programming for large machines (5-axis) using Siemens NX; new component manufacture and refurbishment.
- New product introduction: tooling acquisition, process planning, routing.
- Fixture and work-holding design; cycle time improvements; support for machinists; quality tasks.
- Customer liaison at project kick-off, progress updates and technical briefings.
