Job summary

Jackie Kerr Recruitment is seeking a skilled CNC Miller for a leading engineering manufacturer in Abingdon, UK. You will program, set and operate CNC Milling Machines using Heidenhain/Fanuc controls, reading drawings and producing repeatable setups to ensure high-quality parts.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience, a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent, and proficiency with 3-, 4- and 5-axis machines.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent practical engineering experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience programming, setting and operating CNC Milling Machines.
• Experience programming and operating 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Proficiency in Heidenhain controls; Fanuc experience advantageous.
• Experience operating Doosan, Matsuura and Mazak machinery.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings; quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC Milling Machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings for accurate programming and manufacture.
• Create layout sheets documenting tooling, setups and machine parameters.
• Work independently to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Inspect and qualify own work using measuring equipment.
• Complete quality documentation and reports as required.
• Support and train colleagues where appropriate.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
