Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering technical certification or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent mechanical qualification or demonstrated experience.
• Experience of NC machining – setting and running.
• Understanding of health and safety in the workshop.
• Candidate flexibility may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines in a fully functioning machine shop.
• Set up machinery to produce precision components within tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret complex design drawings.
• Maintain health and safety in the workshop.
• Suggest improvements to increase productivity.
• Ensure quality and operating standards throughout manufacture.
• Instruct others in operation of machinery and assist workshop staff.
• Maintain equipment and work area per maintenance schedule.
• Support department with cross-functional process improvements.
• Plan and produce one-off components and special project work outside average production.
