Job summary

Qioptiq Ltd, part of Teledyne Technologies, is seeking a Mechanical design/ CNC operator for its North Wales site. The role focuses on operating CNC machines, setting up equipment, and producing precision components to tight tolerances in a busy machine shop.

The successful candidate will read complex drawings, maintain safety compliance, and contribute to improvement initiatives across the department while supporting ongoing manufacturing needs.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Technical Certification NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Mechanical Engineering Qualification or Demonstrated Experience.
• Experience of NC Machining - setting and running.
• Understanding of health and safety in the workshop.
• Candidate flexibility may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines in a fully functioning Machine Shop.
• Set up relevant machinery to ensure efficient production of precision components within correct dimensions.
• Read and interpret complex design drawings.
• Ensure health and safety is adhered to and maintained within the workshop.
• Contribute to process improvements to increase productivity.
• Maintain quality standards throughout manufacture and assist in other department tasks.
