Job summary

Ampthill, Bedfordshire-based Cirrus Selection Limited is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer with strong CNC machining and CAM programming expertise. The role is hands-on, developing machining strategies, optimising CNC programmes and introducing advanced tooling and workholding to support prototype and production manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in CNC machining and manufacturing engineering, including CNC turning.
• Expertise in HyperMill CAM programming and offline NC programme generation.
• Experience improving machining processes, tooling strategies and manufacturing efficiency.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and quality improvement techniques.
• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system, including BOMs and routings.

Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programmes for 3-, 4- and 5-axis machining centres and lathes.
• Use HyperMill to generate offline NC programmes.
• Improve cycle times, accuracy, process capability and yield.
• Design fixtures and workholding to improve repeatability and efficiency.
• Support new product introduction, DFM and machining.
• Resolve complex machining issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Design, Production, Quality and Supply Chain to boost performance.
