Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recruiting a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to join the West Dumbarton Older Adult CMHT in Clydebank. The post is based in Goldenhill Resource Centre with a 3-day:5-day pattern on a 21.6-hour, part-time, permanent contract.

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload, supervise nursing staff, assess and plan care, and work with colleagues across primary and secondary care to deliver specialist mental health services for older adults.

Qualifications

• First level Registered Mental Nurse
• Post registration nursing experience with relevant competences
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Current driving licence (Essential)

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, review and discharge individual caseload with defined area responsibilities.
• Liaise with GPs, primary care workers, consultants and other statutory bodies.
• Provide caseload management and clinical supervisory function to nursing staff within the team.
• Provide leadership and development of nursing staff with lifelong learning and evidence-based practice.
• Support management of clinical and environmental risk in day-to-day practice, including lone-working safety.
• Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with service users and carers in complex situations.
• Contribute to local protocols and clinical policy development.
• Participate in risk assessment and incident reporting processes.
• Engage in discussion on flexible working arrangements during recruitment.
