Job summary

Northrop Grumman UK is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer to drive migration and modernization of mission-critical systems to AWS, embracing Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps. You’ll support national security missions and contribute to scalable cloud engineering.

You’ll collaborate in an Infrastructure Team, maintain hybrid-cloud platforms, and pursue continuous certification updates in a flexible, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS or related field.
• AWS Practitioner or Associate certification.
• Experience with Linux and Windows in large environments.
• Strong IPv4 networking knowledge (subnetting, routing).
• Automation experience: Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Puppet or Python.

Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer

As a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will play a key role within our Infrastructure Team, supporting customers on their journey to refactor, replatform and rehost mission-critical systems into AWS. You will enable transformation through Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps practices, improving system reliability, reducing cost and enhancing agility. You’ll work with a wide range of technologies and environments, supporting national security missions and contributing to cutting-edge cloud engineering at scale.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AWS and hybrid-cloud systems.
• Administer Linux and Windows-based environments.
• Maintain and troubleshoot IP networking across cloud and hybrid systems.
• Automate deployment, operation and maintenance tasks using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools.
• Continuously expand your own skills, maintaining and enhancing relevant certifications.

Essential

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience.
• AWS certification at Practitioner or Associate level, with experience designing and deploying cloud solutions.
• Experience administering Linux and Windows operating systems in large corporate environments.
• Strong understanding of IPv4 networking, including subnetting and routing.
• Experience automating tasks using Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Puppet or Python.

Preferred

• Experience working across high-classification systems or in national security environments.
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and Infrastructure as Code tooling.
