Job summary

AWS EMEA SARL (UK Branch) is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead the development of security services across the AWS cloud. You will work with data scientists, software engineers, and other security experts to automate threat detection and mitigation, while engaging with UK customers and senior leaders to uphold security standards.

The role emphasizes mentoring, distributed systems experience, and the ability to obtain UK Government Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings.
• Experience identifying security issues and risks and developing mitigation plans.
• Experience identifying security vulnerabilities, attack patterns, and remediation techniques.
• Scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common language.
• Troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating tasks using command line tools.
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage services that detect and automate mitigation of cybersecurity threats across AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and security engineers to develop security solutions.
• Engage with UK customers and senior stakeholders, including CISOs and AWS senior leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and engineers from diverse backgrounds through code reviews and guidance.
