Job summary

A consulting firm is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer with expertise in GCP and Kubernetes for a 6-month contract. The role involves managing GKE clusters and optimizing developer operations. Qualifications

Senior Cloud Platform Engineer - GCP/Kubernetes

Contract - 6 months, Remote, Outside IR35, £600-650 per Day, ASAP start

Our client is looking for 2 Cloud Platform Engineers to join on a contract basis to help as part of a project that will have huge impacts in the training on AI worldwide.

Skills/Experience
  • Strong experience managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters
  • Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes tooling (Helm, kustomize)
  • Familiarity with GitOps and tooling such as ArgoCD
  • Proven expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly GKE
  • Experience using Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning
  • Programming ability in Python and/or TypeScript
  • Ability to produce clear, developer-friendly documentation and self-service tooling
  • A collaborative mindset and focus on supporting internal teams
Role Responsibilities
  • Managing and optimising GKE Kubernetes clusters using Terraform
  • Supporting compliance with standards such as SOC2, ISO-27001, and Cyber Essentials
  • Designing automation and workflows to simplify and speed up developer operations
  • Building infrastructure solutions that enable secure, reliable deployments
  • Providing technical guidance on GCP and Kubernetes to other teams
Desirable
  • Multi-cloud experience (e.g. AWS, CDK)
  • Previous work with cloud compliance standards
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog
  • Experience applying cloud security best practices
