Job summary

Oracle Cloud is hiring a Principal Engineer to operate production environments and databases for Northern Ireland's sovereign cloud. You will analyze systems, drive availability, and guide junior engineers while handling high-availability demands and scaling challenges.

You'll work across Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms, leading incident bridges and improving procedures for a secure government workload in a 24/7 cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux system administration, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise storage.
• Strong knowledge of Exadata, networking, database and virtualization technologies.
• Proven incident management experience and ability to lead large-scale bridges.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, maintain production server hardware and software.
• Provide escalated technical support for complex issues and lead problem management.
• Coordinate escalated cases with internal teams and third-party vendors.
• Maintain Oracle production environments; assist with OS/app upgrades and patches.
• Lead communications with partners to resolve complex problems.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in incident bridges.
• Support 24/7 operations with day/night rotation.
