Job summary

State Street Bank is seeking a Senior Cloud Network & Security Engineer to shape our multi-cloud networking strategy and Zero Trust architecture across global platforms. The role focuses on Cloudflare edge services, IaC adoption, and intelligent automation for enterprise-scale networks.

You will collaborate with global teams across networking, cloud, security, and operations, contributing to secure, scalable connectivity and architecture standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise networking, cloud networking, network security, or network architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure networking; strong routing, switching, WAN, BGP, OSPF, EVPN, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Knowledge of cloud connectivity services like AWS Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN, Direct Connect, Azure Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute.
• Experience with cloud security, edge security, DNS, DDoS protection, WAF, or Zero Trust technologies.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Terraform, Python, APIs, Git, CI/CD).
• Ability to create architecture standards, engineering patterns, technical docs, and roadmaps; communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred exposure to Cloudflare services, GCP or other clouds, platform engineering, GitOps, and self-service infrastructure models.
• Interest or experience in AI-enabled operations, AI agent workflows, observability platforms, or intelligent automation.
• Experience in a regulated, global enterprise environment is preferred.
• Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and collaborative leadership while balancing innovation with security.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve global cloud networking services across AWS, Azure, Cloudflare, GCP, and other platforms.
• Architect secure, scalable connectivity across cloud, data centre, campus, branch, internet, and SaaS environments.
• Develop multi-cloud routing and connectivity patterns using AWS Cloud WAN, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Azure Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, and cloud interconnect services.
• Engineer cloud security and edge services, including WAF, DNS security, DDoS protection, Magic Transit, and Zero Trust access.
• Build automation and IaC solutions using Terraform, Git, CI/CD pipelines, APIs, Python, and cloud-native tooling.
• Contribute to self-service networking and platform engineering capabilities for reliability and faster delivery.
• Develop AI-enabled operational capabilities for network investigation, incident response, change validation, observability, and workflow automation.
• Define architecture standards, engineering patterns, and technology roadmaps for enterprise-wide adoption.
• Partner with cloud, security, infrastructure, application, and operations teams globally.
• Serve as SME and escalation point for complex cloud, network, security, and automation challenges.

Requirements
