Job summary

Xpertise Recruitment is seeking a Senior Infrastructure and Cloud Migration Engineer for a 4–6 month contract. The role focuses on upgrading legacy infrastructure, enhancing cloud services, and leading migration activities with travel to Yorkshire optional.

The candidate will support internal IT and Platform teams, modernize AWS and on‑prem servers, and improve security and documentation across the estate.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on AWS infrastructure and security experience.
• Experience with Windows Server, Linux, AD and Azure AD/Entra.
• VMware, virtualization, and network infrastructure know-how.
• Server migrations, rebuilding, and modernization experience.
• Security hardening and Defender usage.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing infrastructure and identify systems for upgrade, rebuild or migration.
• Support rebuilding and modernization of AWS and on-prem servers.
• Improve infrastructure security, including hardening, access controls and patching.
• Plan phased migrations of critical systems with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with IT, Security and Platform (DevOps) teams for stable, secure, documented systems.
• Provide knowledge transfer and handover to permanent team.
