CBSbutler is seeking a Senior Technical Architect - Cloud & Microservices to join a major technology programme. You will operate at architectural level with hands-on capability, shaping software architecture and long-term strategy in a fast-paced delivery environment.

Based in Shrewsbury area with Hybrid working (2 days on site in Telford), the role requires strong Java, AWS, microservices and API experience, plus excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering microservices-based solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Java, AWS, REST, and MongoDB.
• Proven ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and design software solutions focusing on stability, scalability and performance.
• Develop architectural views and interaction between components.
• Ensure alignment with long-term technical strategy and wider architecture.
• Provide technical direction to architects, developers and managers.
• Champion architectural standards and maintain documentation.
• Support solutions through construction and work with delivery teams.
• Promote Agile practices and contribute throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Balance technical decisions with wider business needs.
• Hands-on when required to accelerate delivery.
