Senior Cloud Infrastructure Lead (Azure)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (Azure) to lead, develop, and oversee the delivery of Cloud Infrastructure solutions and projects. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and optimizing Azure-based infrastructure, ensuring seamless handovers through training and documentation. It also focuses on business development and growing OGT's presence in the UK market.

You will work closely with clients, project managers, developers, and IT operations teams, ensuring the successful deployment of secure, scalable, and efficient cloud solutions. If you have a passion for cloud architecture, automation, and knowledge-sharing, we invite you to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
  • Identify and research potential clients
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Coordinate with sales teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals
  • Gather useful information from customer and competitor data
  • Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal executives
  • Track, identify, and add qualified prospects to sales pipeline
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business
  • Conduct ongoing market research
ICT Project Delivery:
  • Lead the design, implementation, and migration of Azure-based infrastructure solutions for ICT projects.
  • Ensure project deliverables align with business objectives, security requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Work with stakeholders to define cloud strategy, roadmaps, and solution architectures.
  • Manage project timelines, risks, and dependencies to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Provide expert guidance on cloud adoption, modernization, and infrastructure improvements.
Service Desk & Operations Training & Handover:
  • Develop and deliver training programs for service desk and operations teams to support cloud solutions post-implementation.
  • Ensure smooth knowledge transfer by providing comprehensive documentation, operational playbooks, and runbooks.
  • Act as an escalation point for cloud infrastructure-related issues during transition periods.
  • Collaborate with IT support teams to improve incident resolution processes and troubleshooting efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident response in Azure environments.
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation:
  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure IaaS & PaaS services, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and maintenance using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, or ARM templates.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to enable repeatable, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
  • Optimize cloud resources for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Security & Compliance:
  • Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Implement security controls, RBAC policies, encryption, and network security groups to protect cloud environments.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement remediation strategies.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
  • Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) and backup strategies for business-critical applications.
  • Regularly test and validate DR plans to meet recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).
  • Manage Azure Backup and Site Recovery to ensure data protection and business continuity.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate) preferred.
Experience:
  • 15+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with 10+ years of hands-on experience in Azure cloud environments.
  • Proven track record in delivering ICT projects, from planning to implementation and post-go-live support.
  • Strong background in Azure services (Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, Active Directory, Security).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure DevOps.
  • Expertise in cloud security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python).
  • Experience in training and knowledge transfer to service desk and operations teams.
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.
