Senior Cloud Engineer

• Location: Hybrid, London based
• Employment Type: Contract based Inside IR35

Overview:
Due to a recent team departure, we're looking to bring in immediate external support in the form of a skilled Senior Cloud Engineer (primarily to focus on GCP but also open to other vendors).

This is a high-impact role from day one. You'll be joining a collaborative engineering team that underpins critical services.

We're after someone who's confident working in production environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and is comfortable taking ownership of key cloud initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Smarter Deployments:
  Development of automated deployment pipelines, and overall improvement of release reliability and cutting down time of deployments.
• Security That Scales:
  Enhance cloud security posture and ensure compliance with operational standards.
• Resilience Engineering:
  Implement advanced deployment strategies such as shared and multi-cluster control planes to eliminate single points of failure and improve system resilience.
• Sustainable Engineering Practices:
  Promote sustainable, trust-centric engineering approaches that align with long-term business goals and inclusive access to digital services.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong experience in cloud engineering with a focus on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, GitOps).
• Hands-on experience with service mesh technologies like Istio.
• Deep understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance best practices.
• Proven ability to design scalable, fault-tolerant systems in production environments.
