Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced data and analytics consultant to lead cloud data platform design and delivery for client engagements. You will shape architectures, mentor teams, and drive end-to-end data solutions across strategy, governance, integration, and analytics.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, translate requirements into actionable roadmaps, and contribute to pre-sales while maintaining best practices and high delivery standards.

Qualifications

• Experience designing cloud data platforms in Azure or AWS.
• 5+ years’ experience in data engineering, BI or related roles.
• Extensive ETL and data pipeline design experience, technology agnostic.
• Experience with Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Function Apps, Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Glue, AWS S3, AWS Lambda Functions, AWS Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Alteryx, SSIS or Informatica.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse and data lake principles.
• Data modelling capabilities using Kimball, Inmon or Data Vault.
• Experience with relational database platforms.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Exposure to Python, R or Spark.
• Awareness of AI and ML methodologies and their application in data solutions.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience leading or mentoring junior data engineers, BI developers or consultants.
• Experience acting as a technical lead on project delivery using Agile or DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality consultancy to clients, providing strategic and technical leadership across the full data lifecycle.
• Shape and assure solutions spanning data strategy, governance, operating models, data capabilities, cloud platforms, integration, migration, analytics and AI.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business challenges and develop tailored data solutions.
• Design and oversee the development of technical architectures that align with client objectives.
• Define and uphold standards to ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.
• Act as the bridge between client objectives and delivery, translating requirements into roadmaps and designs.
• Lead delivery by organizing project teams, allocating resources, and ensuring outcomes from discovery to production.
• Provide leadership and guidance to project teams through coaching and mentoring.
• Contribute to business growth by supporting pre-sales activities including scoping and estimation.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and apply relevant innovations to solutions.
• Promote delivery excellence by aligning with quality standards and governance.
