Job summary

Telefónica Tech UK&I is seeking a Senior Principal Cloud Architect to lead complex cloud transformations for strategic customers. You will shape architecture strategy, act as delegated design authority, and collaborate across presales, delivery, and security.

You will design enterprise Azure and AWS solutions, landing zones, migration, modernisation, FinOps, and governance, mentoring Architects, and driving reusable patterns.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading architecture for complex, enterprise-scale cloud transformations.
• Deep knowledge of public cloud architectures with Azure or AWS and multi-cloud awareness.
• Experience as a senior design authority on high-risk engagements.
• Strong understanding of landing zones, migration, and cloud-native patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud architecture strategy for strategic accounts, major bids, RFPs and complex transformation programmes.
• Act as a delegated design authority for high-value, high-risk cloud engagements.
• Shape enterprise cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, landing zones, migration, modernisation, security, resilience, governance and FinOps.
• Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and commercially viable architecture recommendations.
• Provide programme-level architecture direction across multiple projects and workstreams.
• Mentor Cloud Solutions Architects to improve design quality and consistency across the team.
• Identify opportunities to use automation and AI to improve architecture productivity.
