Job summary

Telefónica Tech UK&I is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead complex cloud transformations and strategic bids. You will act as a design authority, shaping enterprise cloud solutions and advising senior customers on strategy and risk across Azure and AWS.

The role spans presales and delivery, with responsibilities for governance, reference architectures and mentoring the team, aiming to deliver secure, scalable, and commercially viable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading cloud architecture initiatives.
• Strong ability to translate business needs into secure, scalable cloud designs.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders on cloud strategy and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cloud architecture strategy for strategic accounts, major bids and RFPs.
• Act as delegated design authority for high‑value cloud engagements.
• Shape enterprise cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, landing zones, migration, modernisation, security and governance.
• Translate complex business requirements into secure, scalable architecture recommendations.
• Provide programme‑level architecture direction across multiple projects and dependencies.
• Assure designs align with presales, programme architecture and delivery outcomes.
• Advise senior stakeholders on cloud strategy, transformation roadmaps and risk.
• Collaborate with commercial, portfolio, engineering and delivery teams to improve solution viability.
• Support Architecture Review Board activities for strategic engagements.
• Develop reusable reference architectures, design patterns and accelerators.
• Mentor Cloud Solution Architects to improve design quality.
