Job description

Do you thrive in high‑autonomy environments where your expertise drives innovation? Can you build scalable, secure cloud solutions from the ground up? Are you certified in Google Cloud and passionate about infrastructure as code? If you answered yes, this could be the perfect opportunity to join a collaborative, forward‑thinking team, building GXO's cloud environment from scratch.

We're looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to join us here at GXO on a full time, permanent basis. This is your chance to join a small, agile team with global reach, where you can enjoy high autonomy, no on‑call duties, and the chance to influence cloud strategy from the ground up. Interviews are conducted via Microsoft Teams, and no degree is required – just your experience and drive.

This is a remote role with travel one day per month to either of our Head Offices in Northampton or London, plus very occasional travel may be needed to France and the USA.

Pay, benefits and more:

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £80,000, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company‑sponsored pension scheme, private medical & dental insurance, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You'll also have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more!

What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Architect and support Google Cloud environments across the UK and Europe
  • Collaborate with global teams to deliver innovative cloud solutions
  • Use Terraform to manage infrastructure as code in Linux and Windows environments
  • Document cloud processes and solutions with clarity and precision
  • Work independently in a fast‑paced, evolving tech landscape
What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect certification and hands‑on GCP experience
  • Strong networking knowledge and familiarity with DevOps best practices
  • Comprehensive experience in cloud architecture, ideally across hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Proficiency in Linux, Windows, and infrastructure monitoring tools
  • A pragmatic, flexible mindset with excellent communication and time management skills
