Job summary

Finastra, a global financial services software leader, is seeking a Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer in London. The role focuses on building, operating and evolving cloud, infrastructure and networking capabilities in a highly regulated environment.

You will lead hands-on networking, design secure cloud platforms, automate provisioning with IaC, and collaborate with security and technology teams to deliver reliable end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in networking, cloud and infra engineering with strong networking fundamentals.
• Experience designing and supporting cloud infrastructure in production environments.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and IaC tooling like Terraform/Ansible is a plus.
• Knowledge of security and compliance in regulated environments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, operate and continuously improve secure, scalable and resilient cloud and infrastructure environments.
• Lead hands-on networking across virtual networks, subnets, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls and cloud-physical connectivity.
• Support operation and management of cloud platforms, physical infrastructure and networking services.
• Monitor infrastructure health and performance, resolve complex cloud and networking issues.
• Automate provisioning and configuration through IaC and scripting.
• Embed security, resilience and compliance into infrastructure design and operations.
• Collaborate with security, cloud, infra and broader tech teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Contribute to technical docs and engineering standards.

Upon completion, this role is expected to transition to the standalone Universal Banking business, creating opportunities to support its future growth and success.* **What will you contribute?** As a Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in building, operating and evolving the cloud, infrastructure and networking capabilities supporting our business and customers. This is a hands-on technical role spanning cloud platforms, physical infrastructure and networking, with a particular emphasis on network engineering. You will help deliver resilient, secure and scalable infrastructure within a highly regulated financial-services environment. The role will report to the Head of Cloud Infrastructure Engineering and will be based in London. **Responsibilities & Deliverables:** * Design, implement, operate and continuously improve secure, scalable and resilient cloud and infrastructure environments.* Lead hands-on networking activities across virtual networks, subnets, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls and connectivity between cloud and physical environments.* Support the operation and management of cloud platforms, physical infrastructure and networking services.* Monitor infrastructure health and performance, proactively resolving complex cloud, infrastructure and networking issues.* Identify opportunities to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration through Infrastructure as Code and scripting.* Embed security, resilience and compliance considerations into infrastructure design and operations.* Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, Security and wider technology teams to deliver reliable end-to-end solutions.* Contribute to technical documentation, engineering standards and infrastructure transformation initiatives.**Required Experience:** * Strong hands-on experience across **n**etworking, cloud and infrastructure engineering, with particularly strong networking fundamentals.* Strong knowledge of networking concepts including VPN, VNets, subnets, Private Link Networking and VLANs, with the ability to confidently troubleshoot network environments.* Practical experience designing, implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure in production environments.* Experience supporting secure, resilient and highly available technology environments.* Strong troubleshooting capabilities across infrastructure and network layers.* Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code would be advantageous.* Experience within financial services, fintech, payments, lending or another regulated environment is strongly preferred.* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a practical and team-oriented approach. **Nice to Have:** * Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform or Ansible.* Scripting experience using PowerShell, Bash or Python.* Experience with CI/CD and DevOps/DevSecOps practices.* Experience using Network management tools like Infoblox* Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.* Knowledge of security and compliance We are proud to offer a range of incentives to our employees worldwide.
