Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Clinical Vascular Scientist for the Jackie Walton Vascular Studies Unit at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. You will work autonomously, perform advanced duplex ultrasound, interpret complex findings, and contribute to MDT discussions to guide patient care.

The role emphasizes leadership, teaching, research activity, and service development within a high-performing vascular service.

Qualifications

• SVT accreditation and substantial vascular ultrasound experience.
• Ability to report independently and communicate findings to clinicians.
• Experience teaching or mentoring junior staff is desirable.
• Post-accreditation specialist experience in vascular ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Perform and independently report highly specialised vascular investigations using duplex ultrasound.
• Assess and monitor patients with arterial/venous disease.
• Communicate findings to clinicians and escalate urgent cases.
• Lead, train and mentor trainee Clinical Vascular Scientists and STP trainees.
• Contribute to MDT discussions and service development.
• Support outreach clinics across Thames Valley Vascular Network.
