Job summary

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust in Dorset is seeking an exceptional Senior Clinical Supervisor to join the MHSTs in schools.

You will lead clinical supervision, provide expert consultation, maintain a small caseload, and collaborate with schools and partner agencies to improve outcomes.

This role requires driving, traveling across Dorset, and a commitment to trauma-informed, child-centred practice with a focus on developing others.

Qualifications

• Registered mental health professional with current registration with HCPC, NMC, Social Work England, BPS, BABCP, BACP, UKCP, ACP-UK or equivalent professional body.
• Significant experience working therapeutically with children, young people and families experiencing mental health difficulties.
• Experience delivering recognised evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people, including a strong understanding of Low Intensity CBT interventions.
• Substantial experience providing clinical supervision, including Case Management Supervision and Clinical Skills Supervision.
• Experience supporting and developing practitioners who supervise others.
• Experience working with clinical complexity, safeguarding, risk assessment and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed, attachment-aware and child-centred practice.
• Experience of multi-agency partnership working across health, education, social care and voluntary sector services.
• Excellent communication, consultation, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Experience using outcome measures, audit, quality improvement and service evaluation to inform practice.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Ability to work independently while building strong collaborative relationships across teams and organisations.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Ability to drive, access to a car and ability to travel across Dorset to meet service requirements.

Dorset Mental Health Support Teams in Schools (MHSTs) are looking for an exceptional Senior Clinical Supervisors to join the service.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced clinician who thrives on collaboration, professional development and service improvement. Working as one of four Senior Clinical Supervisors, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening supervisory practice, ensuring children, young people and families receive high-quality, evidence-based and compassionate support.

You will provide expert clinical supervision, consultation and leadership to Supervisors and Senior Wellbeing Practitioners, promoting reflective practice, professional curiosity and confident decision-making. Alongside your supervisory role, you will maintain a small clinical caseload, delivering specialist interventions to children, young people and families with more complex mental health needs.

This role is ideal for an innovative and motivated professional who is committed to trauma-informed, attachment-aware and child-centred practice and who is passionate about developing the practice of others.
