Job summary

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust in Wakefield is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Officer to support the operational research team. You will scope and deliver portfolio studies, supervise junior staff, and ensure recruitment targets are met across NIHR portfolio trials within NHS settings.

The role requires NHS research experience, strong IT skills, and the ability to work across multiple sites with clinical teams and families affected by mental health needs.

Qualifications

• First degree level standard of education 2.1 or above in a health or social care related subject.
• Post graduate qualification in relevant subject with research element or evidence of advanced knowledge of research methodology in the NHS.

Responsibilities

• Assessing feasibility of potential new portfolio studies.
• Setting up new portfolio studies.
• Ensuring the first patient is recruited into the study by the target date.
• Ensuring the target number of patients are recruited into the study within the recruitment period.
• Increasing the number of research active staff.
• Management of the clinical research officers.
