A leading health board in the UK is seeking a capable individual to join their Lipids Management team within the Cardiology Department. The role involves running clinical trials, ensuring patient care, and collaborating with experienced doctors. The Cardiothoracic Directorate is a busy and growing service based at University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough.
We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic individual to work alongside our Lipids Management team within the Cardiology Department. The applicant should have the essential requirements outlined in the personal specification , with excellent communication and organisational skills, ability to work with minimum supervision and the ability to prioritise their own workload. Excellent IT/Database skills is required.
The post holder will be expected to work across both sites of University Hospital of Wales & University Hospital of Llandough and has the opportunity to be involved within the Cardiology Medical Rota also to gain essential Cardiology experience, this includes On-Calls & Nights.
Main duties of the job
There is no commitment to out of hours work, but there may be opportunities to join the Cardiology SPR on-call rota as additional duty.
Principal duties of post will involve the running of a medical trial of Cardiology Patients undergoing Lipids management. You will be responsible for identifying suitable trial patients from the inpatient & outpatient Cardiology Waiting lists, co-ordinating their pre-admission investigations, ensuring patients meet the trial inclusion criteria, patients consent, treating patients as per Lipid management protocol, daily review of patients and collection of study data as well as the planning of patient discharges and follow-up investigations.
You will be working closely alongside Dr Vasim Farooq & Dr Dev Datta whom are also heavily involved in the care of patients undergoing the care within the Hyperlipidaemia Service.
