St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Senior Clinical Psychologist to join the North West Spinal Injuries Centre team in Southport. The post involves providing highly specialist psychology care to inpatients on acute and rehabilitation wards, with outreach work and collaboration with spinal MDT colleagues.

The role requires an established Clinical Psychologist with experience of long-term physical health conditions. EMDR training is available and encouraged.

Competenze

• Experience as a Clinical Psychologist in hospital settings is essential.
• Experience working with spinal injuries or long-term physical health conditions is desirable.

Mansioni

• Provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to inpatients within the North West Spinal Injuries Centre (NWSIC), across acute and rehabilitation wards with outreach where clinically indicated.
• Lead on development and delivery of a highly specialist psychology service to the paediatric and young person’s SCI rehabilitation service and supervise junior colleagues.
• Deliver highly specialist psychological assessment and treatment to adult inpatients at the NSIC, individually and in groups.
• Provide advice and consultation regarding inpatient psychological care to non-psychology staff.
• Provide consultation to the NSIC outreach service regarding admission of inpatients with complex needs.
• Contribute to strategic planning of clinical psychology services within the NSIC and develop paediatric psychology services.
• Represent Clinical Psychology in MWL Psychology and organisational development.
• Contribute to teaching and training commitments.
