Job summary

South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking an experienced psychologist at Band 8a level. The post welcomes applications from Clinical/Counselling Psychologists and those with under 18 months post-qualification, with progression from Band 7 to 8a possible.

Experience in CBT for psychosis, trauma and DBT is valued. The role offers a permanent full-time position and a part-time fixed-term option (15 hours/week) until 13/09/2027, with flexible working patterns to suit

Qualifications

• Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent) with models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology.
• Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS;
• Formal supervision training for psychologists;
• Registration with HCPC under the appropriate domain title

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessments using complex data from tests, self-report measures, scales and interviews.
• Formulate and implement plans for formal psychological treatment across care settings.
• Deliver a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups; adapt formulations across teams.
• Evaluate treatment options considering theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors.
• Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.
