Senior Clinical Pharmacy Technician, Kingston

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Supporting the implementation of self-administration by patients and/or carers where possible.
  2. Conducting a ward top-up service.
  3. Providing daily order lists and managing the receipt of parenteral SACT prepared and delivered from the Aseptic/SACT Distribution Unit.
  4. Ensuring all patients receiving to take out (TTO) medication are appropriately counselled, undertaking specific accreditations to carry out counselling for supportive and anti-cancer (SACT) medicines.
  5. Liaising with pharmacy staff to resolve any technical queries or problems with patients, referring to a pharmacist when required.
  6. Liaising on drug-related issues with primary healthcare professionals, as appropriate for patients being discharged from hospital.
  7. Ensuring all dispensary stock is stored and rotated correctly.
  8. Understanding procedures for stock ordering, distribution, and control, including a ward top-up service.
