Job Description:

The NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Directorate is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our Medicines Management team at Victoria Hospital.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist to specialize in Medicines Management, influencing cost-effective, safe, and evidence-based prescribing, medicines utilization, and evaluation of medicines, including new and novel medicines, formulary management, and homecare medicines.

The successful candidate will possess highly effective interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, operate with a high degree of autonomy in decisions related to Medicines Utilization and Therapeutics, and be part of the transition from local NHS Board formulary and governance to regional procedures.

Requirements include a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as an independent prescriber (or willingness to work towards this), demonstrable clinical pharmacy experience, and completion of a postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience. A regular clinical commitment to a designated group of patients based on service needs and previous skills is also expected.
