Job summary

Devon Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Pharmacist to provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to mental health community teams in North Devon. The role includes prescribing, audits, counselling, and training, with strong links to local primary care networks.

The post requires GPhC registration and independent prescribing qualification (or progression toward it). Band 8a for MH-experienced candidates and Band 7 for strong clinical candidates with development support.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or therapeutics or equivalent clinical experience.
• Certificate, diploma or Masters in psychiatric pharmacy practice or equivalent clinical experience.
• Independent prescribing qualification or working towards it.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to mental health community teams in North Devon.
• Develop links with local primary care network services.
• Work with other mental health services when needed, such as supporting inpatient admissions for the local patient group.
• Carry out medication reviews.
• Provide patient counselling.
• Prescribe medicines.
• Carry out clinical audit.
• Engage with patients' physical health.
• Deliver training.
