Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Symptom Control and Palliative Care team at UCLH in London. You will work as an autonomous practitioner within the MDT to manage an inpatient caseload of complex palliative care and symptom control needs.

This established, well‑regarded team offers opportunities to teach, develop care pathways, and contribute to bereavement support.

Formación

• Post-registration nursing experience in the relevant specialty.
• Experience in case or ward management.
• Experience teaching clinical staff, patients and families.
• Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Paramedic with post-basic qualifications.
• Recognised teaching qualification.

Responsabilidades

• Act as expert clinician for patients and carers with complex symptom control and palliative needs within UCLH.
• Independently manage a caseload of patients with complex needs.
• Be included on a triage rota for incoming referrals, calls and discharges.
• Provide palliative care advice within general multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver assessment and communication addressing advance care planning and end-of-life decisions.
• Serve as expert advisor on pain and symptom management.
• Independently assess and support bereavement needs, making referrals.
• Provide education to staff.
• Support carers and families.
• Use knowledge of multidisciplinary roles to ensure optimal referrals and care pathways.
• Be part of 7 day rota 0900-1700 and on-call rota 7 days 1700-2000.
