An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 nurse to apply for a 12-month secondment as a band 6 nurse to support the Clinical Team Manager and Clinical Leadership Team in delivering high-quality, safe, and effective care.

This post is currently for male wards only, specifically:

• Morris Ward
• Albert Ward

This is a demanding and challenging role requiring the successful candidate to demonstrate high resilience, excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to provide sound clinical and managerial support to team members.

The post holder will also demonstrate a passion for coaching leadership, quality improvement, and a respectful attitude towards service users' choices, working alongside them and their carers to ensure they are central to care planning.

This position is subject to an enhanced check with the adults barred list, including a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

The post holder will assist the Clinical Team Manager in carrying ongoing professional and managerial responsibilities for the ward. They will operate as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team, undertaking a balance of managerial and clinical activities to ensure continuity of care for service users through their journey in the acute service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Implementing caseload supervision to monitor service user care standards and ensure proper record keeping in line with professional and trust standards.
• Participating in regular clinical supervision as per trust policy.
• Assisting in developing and implementing integrated care pathways, including assessments, referrals, and models of care.
• Providing information, education, and support to family members, carers, and relevant professionals.
• Receiving and giving managerial and clinical supervision regularly as per trust policy.
• Ensuring the clinical environment promotes service users’ health, safety, and well-being, respecting their dignity, privacy, and cultural beliefs.
• Maintaining records according to professional and trust standards.
• Managing medicines safely, adhering to the NMC code and trust medicines policy.
• Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and promoting positive intra-agency working.
• Participating in setting standards of care based on research findings.
