We are recruiting a Clinical Senior Lecturer post on a permanent basis. In addition, they will be expected to fulfil the role of Academic Lead for Education Quality, for a 5-year duration, with potential to extend. The postholder will be a senior clinician, GMC-registered with a licence to practice, and in practice as a GP or consultant. They will have experience of educational leadership and a track record of high quality undergraduate medical education.

Brunel Medical School welcomed its first intake of students in September 2022. The MBBS programme has various distinctive features, including team-based learning (TBL), programmatic assessment & early patient contact in years 1&2. A range of digital technologies are used to enhance learning; and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) are embedded across all aspects of the student experience.

We are recruiting a Clinical Senior Lecturer post on a permanent basis. In addition, they will be expected to fulfil the role of Academic Lead for Education Quality, for a 5-year duration, with potential to extend. The postholder will be a senior clinician, GMC-registered with a licence to practice, and in practice as a GP or consultant. They will have experience of educational leadership and a track record of high quality undergraduate medical education.

The postholder will be responsible for providing academic leadership of education quality, for both the MBBS and MSc PA programmes, to meet the quality requirements of the University and of the GMC approval processes for new medical schools. Experience with the GMC's accreditation process will be an advantage. Responsibilities will include academic leadership of education quality around governance systems and processes, student selection, feedback, curriculum, assessment, student support and placements, professionalism and fitness to practise.

The postholder will contribute to other areas of medical education, such as teaching and/or curriculum development, TBL, the House Tutor system, student selection (MMIs), and OSCEs. They will also contribute to student recruitment, outreach and widening participation initiatives.
