Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Band 8b Principal Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join the Ashford Low Secure Unit and the Forensic Community Learning Disabilities Team. The role leads psychological services within an innovative team accredited by QNFMHS and QNLD, using Good Lives Model, PBS and adapting DBT to support trauma-informed, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical or forensic psychology (BPS accredited).
• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist.
• Non-Clinical Psychologists will need to demonstrate the above competencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychological support to designated teams in assessment and treatment of people with learning disability and challenging/offending behaviours.
• Oversee and coordinate service development; deliver a range of psychological interventions.
• Advise on formulation, psycho‑logical intervention and risk to NHS colleagues and external agencies.

Education

Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical or forensic psychology (BPS accredited)

HCPC registration as Practitioner Psychologist

Supervision of other psychologists training/experience
