Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 8b Principal Practitioner Psychologist for the Reaside Clinic in Birmingham. The role leads specialist psychological services at a 92-bed secure facility for adult men with complex needs, delivering group and individual therapies and supervising staff.

The post requires a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, HCPC registration, 4+ years post-qualification experience (2 years at senior level), and strong governance and

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
• GBC or equivalent route required.
• Current HCPC Practitioner Psychologist registration.
• At least four years post-qualification experience, including two years at senior level.
• Experience in complex psychological assessment, individual and group therapy, and clinical supervision.
• Strong leadership, communication, teamwork and clinical governance skills.
• DBS and other required pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct specialist psychological assessments and develop psychological formulations.
• Deliver evidence-based individual and group therapies.
• Lead service development and improve patient recovery pathways.
• Supervise trainee psychologists and other clinical professionals.
• Provide psychological consultation to multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to research, clinical audits, training and service evaluation.
• Support clinical governance, safeguarding and risk management.
