A leading hospital in Leeds invites applications for a Senior Clinical Fellow position within the Urgent Care Clinical Service Unit. Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow (SCF) position within the Urgent Care Clinical Service Unit at St James's University Hospital, Leeds. The fixed-term post, lasting 12 months from 6th August 2025, aims to provide excellent clinical training in Acute Internal Medicine with a focus on Same Day Emergency Care. There will also be opportunities to contribute to QIP and service development within the department.

You will join the Urgent Care Clinical Service Unit (CSU) at St James's University Hospital (SJUH), comprising Acute Internal Medicine (AIM) and Emergency Medicine (EM). While most clinical duties will be within the SDEC, contributions to medical care in the acute medicine admission units and Emergency Department may be required.
The department is based in Chancellors Wing, including two Acute Medical Units (one with a High Observation Unit) and a co-located SDEC service with Medical and Older Persons Units. Experience gained will include ambulatory care, admission avoidance, management of acutely ill patients, inpatient care, and discharge planning.
The post-holder is expected to work at the level of a post-Internal Medicine Year 3 trainee (ST3+), with access to supervision from a consultant.
Protected non-clinical time will be provided. There are opportunities for undergraduate teaching, and study leave may be available for AIM and GIM-related courses/training, subject to supervisory approval.
