Senior Clinical Fellow (ST6-7 level or post CCT ) With special interest in Early Pregnancy and Benign Gynaecology Whipps Cross University Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic doctor to join the current Obstetrics and Gynaecology team as a Senior Clinical Fellow at Barts Health NHS Trust for a one year period. The Obstetrics & Gynaecology service at Whipps Cross is renowned not only for training but also for the breadth of experience available due to the diverse demography and epidemiology of the local population.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key member of the team responsible for the treatment and care of patients with early pregnancy or benign gynaecological conditions. The position will provide opportunities for training in ultrasound and laparoscopy as well as contributing to audit and research within the department. There will be sessions on the delivery suite in order to maintain and develop competence in obstetric skills. The candidate will also be exposed to antenatal clinics, antenatal ward and ambulatory obstetric care within the triage and day assessment unit.
There will be an on-call component and the post holder should be able to act at senior registrar level within both obstetrics and general gynaecology, providing support to junior team members on delivery suite and covering gynaecology emergencies.

Job responsibilities
Although this post is not recognised for training, there will be opportunities for completion of ATSMs as well as valuable experience to those wishing to secure future posts, including at consultant level for those applicants who already hold CCT. The post holder should have achieved basic ultrasound skills prior to commencing the post.
Individuals will require full GMC Registration and should be post MRCOG. This post is aimed at UK or overseas trainee obstetricians at ST 6+ level or above.
