A healthcare provider in Wolverhampton is seeking a middle grade doctor for their Paediatrics department. The role involves delivering care for paediatric patients, gaining experience in outpatient clinics, and participating in an on-call rota. Suitable for experienced doctors at ST3 or higher level. The post holder will work in the Paediatrics department, as an integral member of the Paediatric team. The successful candidate will provide ward support as a ‘middle grade’, working alongside the consultant of the week to deliver inpatient care for paediatric patients. They will also gain experience in outpatient clinics. This post is designed for a trainee wishing to gain further experience in Acute Paediatrics within the NHS in the UK and is suitable for an experienced doctor at ST3 or higher level. The post is based in general paediatrics with a 12‑month Tier 2 placement and involves participation in the Tier 2 on‑call rota to cover General Paediatrics, with day and overnight duties averaging not more than 48 hours weekly.
This post would suit a candidate who would like to gain skills in paediatrics in both the acute setting and in the outpatient environment, with opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in sub‑specialist areas within acute paediatrics.
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust was established in 1994 and is a major acute Trust providing a comprehensive range of services for the people of Wolverhampton, the wider Black Country, Staffordshire, North Worcestershire and Shropshire. It gained Cancer Centre status in 1997, was designated as the 4th Regional Heart & Lung Centre during 2004/05 and became one of the first wave Bowel Screening Centres in 2006. The Trust is the largest teaching hospital in the Black Country providing teaching and training to around 130 medical students on rotation from the University of Birmingham Medical School. It also provides training for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals through links with the University of Wolverhampton.
