A leading healthcare provider in London is seeking two medical fellows to join their Oncology department for a 6-month fixed-term contract starting September 2025. The roles may suit post-MRCP Part II trainees or CESR trainees. There is an exciting opportunity for two medical fellows to work within the department of Oncology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Initially, it is a 6-month fixed-term contract starting September 2025. These posts will form part of the postgraduate training rotation in clinical oncology and provide excellent learning opportunities in a supportive environment.
The roles are ideally suited for trainees wishing to pursue a career in oncology, post-MRCP Part II, but not yet in a training role. They may also suit potential CESR trainees, provided they have GMC registration and can work immediately in the UK. The posts offer considerable flexibility for doctors to choose their research or educational focus, allowing them to develop their CVs or clinical experience.
The successful candidates will gain experience in outpatient clinics, systemic anticancer treatments, and acute oncology inpatient services as part of a ward and on-call rota. The fellow will have the opportunity to tailor their role according to their educational needs and interests, whether through research, education delivery, or management/leadership skills development. While the role is best suited for individuals with prior oncology experience, it may also be suitable for trainees aiming to pursue a career in oncology post-MRCP Part II who are not yet in a training role.
The responsibilities include providing high-quality oncology patient care, engaging in research, teaching, and training, as well as performance management, medical staff management, governance, leadership, and team working.
