Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking Senior Clinical Fellows for Geriatric and Stroke Medicine. Positions commence on 6th August 2025 for a year at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Candidates will gain valuable experience in various medical specialties and are required to have full GMC registration.

Qualifications

  • Completion of MRCP is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical duties include ward responsibilities, clinics, rehabilitation ward rounds, and weekend cover.
  • Contribute to the General Medical on-call rota.

Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

The shift pattern for this post is rotational.

Senior Clinical Fellow positions are available at ST3 level or above from 6th August 2025 for 12 months. These posts are based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and may include cover for off-site rehabilitation beds at Lightburn or Stobhill Hospital.

There are two roles available: 1 WTE in Geriatric Medicine Interest and 1 WTE in Stroke Interest.

Within the department, there are opportunities to gain further experience in General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Stroke Medicine. Clinical duties include ward responsibilities, clinics, rehabilitation ward rounds, weekend cover, and contribution to the General Medical on-call rota.

Applicants must possess full GMC registration. Completion of MRCP is preferred.

  • Applicants who have not completed a UK foundation programme within 3.5 years of the start date will need to submit a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST), completed by a consultant who has worked with the applicant for at least three months within the past 3.5 years.
