Job description
Senior Clinical Fellow – Neurosurgery (12 month post, possibility of extension)

Post description – 12 month appointment within the Junior Registrar Tier (equivalent to ST3‑5) at Salford Royal Hospital, Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of neurosurgical consultants, covering all subspecialties – oncology, complex spine, functional, vascular neurosurgery.
  • Attend a 1:11 on‑call rota as the first on‑call registrar, with a senior registrar as second on‑call.
  • Participate in routine and emergency neurosurgical procedures, pre‑operative assessment, intra‑operative support and post‑operative care.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences and departmental teaching sessions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council.
  • Neurosurgical trainees with a clear, demonstrable interest in Neurosurgery and genuine prospects for a Consultant (or equivalent for international applicants) post.
  • Clinical experience within a busy, well‑established neurosurgical unit is desirable.
