Clinical:
The post holder will, with colleagues, be responsible for providing thrombosis and acquired bleeding services to Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, including:
The post holder will oversee the training and guidance of junior staff under a training plan agreed with their supervising consultant.
The post holder will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students as appropriate.

The directorate is led by Co-Clinical Directors, Dr. Susan Robinson and Dr. Karen Breen. The Clinical Lead for Haemostasis and Thrombosis is Dr. Pu-Lin Luo, and the Haemophilia Director is Dr. Gerry Dolan. The post-holder will report to the Clinical Lead for Haemostasis and Thrombosis.

The Thrombosis and Thrombophilia team is expanding due to increased referrals. It provides tertiary referral services for complex thrombotic cases across South-East England and beyond, including advisory services for anticoagulation, high-risk pregnancy management, and acquired bleeding disorders. The team organizes clinics on both the Guy's and St Thomas' sites, including specialized clinics for inherited thrombophilias, antiphospholipid syndrome, and general thrombosis. The team includes senior clinicians, research fellows, nurses, and administrative staff, with strong links to surgical and medical specialties involved in thrombotic patient care.
The role is based at the Guy's & St Thomas' sites. It is suited for individuals interested in research and gaining experience in thrombosis and bleeding disorder management.
To provide clinical management of patients with thrombosis and bleeding disorders, engage in research to improve care, and participate in teaching and service activities to ensure high standards of patient care.
As previously outlined, responsibilities include diagnosis and treatment, training junior staff, contributing to teaching, and participating in clinical governance, audit, risk management, and educational activities. The post also involves adherence to confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, infection control, safeguarding, sustainability, and information governance policies. The role requires a GMC registration, relevant qualifications, and a DBS check.
