Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the ENT department at Imperial College Healthcare, commencing in August 2025. The successful applicant will have extensive experience in general and subspecialty Otolaryngology Surgery and will be expected to work flexibly, bringing new skills to the department.

The post holder will work as part of the ENT team to provide high-quality services, including outpatient, emergency, day-case, and inpatient care, independently. They will join the registrar team delivering specialist ENT care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be medically qualified and maintain GMC registration.
  • Provide high-quality care to ENT patients.
  • Develop and maintain the necessary competencies for the role.
  • Attend agreed clinical activities promptly.
  • Involve patients in care decisions and respond to their views.
  • Manage patient pathways in their area.
  • Undertake administrative duties following departmental guidelines.
  • Support training of junior doctors and trainees in ENT surgery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and Imperial College.
  • Adhere to trust and departmental guidelines on leave and reporting absence.

Weekly Schedule:
  • Monday: Outpatients clinic / Theatre (alternate weeks)
  • Tuesday: SPA / Outpatients clinic / Theatre (alternate weeks)
  • Wednesday: Rhinology Outpatients clinic
  • Thursday: SPA / Rhinology Outpatients clinic / Outpatients clinic / Theatre (alternate weeks)
  • Friday: Theatre / SPA / Research
Meetings and On-Call:

Attendance at departmental audits, M&M, and business meetings is required. The post includes on-call commitments across Imperial sites and Chelsea and Westminster Trust, with a typical frequency of 1:7 for ENT, and a Registrar of the Week rota (1:14), providing site cover and emergency support from 9 am to 5 pm.
