Leeds Teaching Hospitals has a thriving pancreatic unit serving North and West Yorkshire. We are seeking a senior surgical trainee who is approaching or has completed their CCT.
We are looking for a surgical trainee to start in February 2025.
Wewould like a surgical trainee to join us for a period of 6 months working with 5 Consultant Surgeons to obtain experience in Pancreatic cancer surgery, including minimally invasive and surgery for acute and chronic pancreatitis. The successful applicants must have general surgery experience in the UK.
Participation at HST level in the general surgical out-of-hours rota will be expected.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
This is a 6-month fixed-term post for a Trust Doctor (Senior Clinical Fellow) working within the Pancreas and General Surgery Department at St James's University Hospital. This role is intended to provide experience in pancreatic surgery.
MEDICAL STAFF IN THE DEPARTMENT
This post will be allocated to the North Yorkshire Pancreas Department led by 5 Consultants.
DUTIES OF THE POST
LEVELS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The post holder will provide clinical care for acute, elective, and outpatient cases under supervision. They will be part of the general surgical out-of-hours rota, providing emergency care for surgical admissions, referrals, and ward patients. They will conduct outpatient clinics independently with support, support theatre sessions, and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings.
TEACHING AND RESEARCH/STUDY AND TRAINING
